Guys,
Warning: Newbie question here. I had a gunsmith put on my barrel, gas block, and handguard on my upper. I did not have my BCG at the time. I just got it in and went to install it and the gas tube is about 3" too long. I assume I shouldn't cut the end that meets the BCG due to the bevel. Can I just cut back the end that goes into the gas block? If that is the answer what is the best way to get it the exact correct length? Any advice would be apprciated. Thanks much. |

Doesn't sound like a very experienced AR smith, if he doesn't realise the gas tube is not the correct length.
Cutting the gas tube to length will not work. You will need to purchase the correct length. The forward end of the gas tube is sealed, the aft end is flared. |
