This is my first build. Started gathering parts in mid-November. The lower receiver was the main hold up. Very easy and very fun to build. Only thing left to purchase is a bipod from Larue and an optic eventually.

Not sure yet. I am thinking this is going to be a bench/prone rifle because it's a little on the heavy side due. Thinking something that can see out to 300 yards easy. Suggestions?

I have an Intensity Optics 6.5-20x44mm AO that I picked up for about $80.  It looks and feels like a scope twice that easily.

I think you are a good way towards an m16a4 style gun and might just keep with the style.  Been wanting to do that myself with my 20" gun..
