[ARCHIVED THREAD] - My first build

Well here is my first build. Pretty much complete. There are not many pictures of this rail as it is not the most popular, but I wanted to keep the front sight so I figured I would try it out and I love it. The extra rail space allows you to place your hand farther up for much more solid support when shooting. Midlength guys know this, and I think its a solid rail for a carbine gas system. It weighs 9.0lbs fully loaded. It shoots MOA and punches a nice quarter sized hole at 100 yards.

Parts breakdown:

Spikes Lower
J&T upper, 16" barrel chrome lined w/M4 ramps, bolt carrier assembly and lower parts kit.
FSC556 flash hider/compensator
Daniel Defense Lite 9.5 fsp rail
Magpul CTR, MIAD, XTM panels, triggerguard, and of course pmag.
Extended charging latch
Eotech 512
LaRue buis

Looks good. I like that EOTech and the desert tan look. I'm tempted to paint my DPMS kiss lower that color.

Here is a crappy cell phone pic of it. Also, you can see that the rail itself is the exact width of the Eotech.

Updated w/pic after FSC556 added and more panels. Shot it w/ the new flash hider today and man does it spew gas out the sides. Hope nobody wants to shoot next to me.

Nice rifle! who made the extended CH latch? I just installed Badger Ordnance's Gen 1 tactical latch on both of my AR's and love 'em!
