I"m in the final stages of assembling my first AR.  Last night I decided to test fit the gas block, and found that it looks like I'll have to drive the block onto the machined area on the barrel.  I can understand that the fit should be tight, but is it normal for the block to have to be driven onto the barrel?  I suppose I could use a large socket as a drive wrench.  What does everyone else use?

I pad the vise and clamp the gas block in. I then lube the barrel and twist it in by hand.

Use a block of wood and tap it in place gradually.
