For my current build I am doing a lot of Magpul FDE accessories.  I am thinking about using a CAA CBS stock and was curious if anyone has seen one of the tan ones next to a Magpul FDE stock.  How close are they color wise?  The CBS looks lighter, but I haven't seen them actually together to judge the difference.  Pics would be appreciated.  Thanks!

oh man...take it from a newbie turned "tactical" cool ...

When i got my first store bought ar-15 (M&P 15), i jumped straight on the internet and the first stuff I found was a bunch of CAA stuff. I ordered one of everything. Put it all on and thought I was happy. That was until everyone laughed at me while they had full magpul setups. Yea, CAA is junk compared to magpul.

Soooo...if you want to be cool, skip the CAA stuff and go straight for the magpul. Kinda like the carry handle ar-15's....don't do it!

CAA is junk man. Why buy CAA and then decide a few (days, weeks, months) later that you want Magpul, then drop the money on Magpul. Just buy the Magpul furniture as you can afford it and you will save money in the long run.

I have a CAA CBS on my dpms 308 and looked at a Magpul stock on an S&W MP15 today there is a bit of difference, I don't have picture but I would say the magpul is a bit darker, more earth color and the CAA is a lighter sand type color.

But I don't know whats not to like about CAA. I have the CBS w/ ACP and the grip with changeable inserts to me they are much more comfortable than the magpul CTR and MIAD, but maybe thats just me? The CBS has a very snug fit no rattling. I have the UPG16 interchangeable grip on both my ar's and have 3 more waiting to go on lowers with the kits when they get here.

Sorry but I like stuff for fit and function, if I can get something that works just as well or better for the same or lower price I'll take it. I'm not a name brand freak.

Not particularly interested in being "cool" as much as building something that appeals to me personally.  This is also not about what everyone else thinks.  I have had both Magpul and CAA stuff and have no real issues with most of the CAA gear.  I have just never seen the Tan CAA color next to the FDE Magpul and don't want to mix them if the difference is pretty severe.

I was told by the owner of a small AR manufacturing company that the coyote/brown etc plastic parts often vary widely from batch. Even if you see two stocks from those companies that seem to match, you cannot be sure that the one you buy will be the same shade as the one you saw.
