| Those look like normal taper pins and, as noted, they appear to be small side on the left. They need to be tapped (whacked) out. It helps if you start with a nail punch that has an indented head to help you stay on the pin. You also need to do it on a solid surface so the force from the blows is delivered to the pins and not dissipated. A presoak of Kroil, PC Blaster or another penetrating oil can help as well. |

Most guns have taper pins that drive out left to right, but S&W M&Ps and Stag pins drive out right to left. +1 on the nail punch with the concave tip - this was the only way I was able to get my pins out. I soaked them with WD-40 for several days before they would drive out. Kroil will probably work better. The other key is to have the FSB on a solid support surface so that all the energy of your hammer tap goes to the pin. |
