I will be using an AR15 I am building primarily at the range, using either a bipod, or a bag.  I want to get an appropriate free float tube for such use.  From what I can find, there are three types, 1 piece, 2 piece, and 3 piece.  One piece are just like one long barrel nut, while the two piece use an extended barrel nut, which has another set of threads on it, which the float tube screws onto.  The 3 piece uses a barrel nut, the float tube, and a lock nut, to lock down the float tube precisely where you want it.  According to this site, http://www.fulton-armory.com/FloatTubes.htm, the 3 piece are best.  I do need to index the tube due to a bipod.  Who makes 3 piece units?  I don't see much said from various makers on what types they are selling.  I welcome any other comment, as I know next to nothing about these things!

ETA:  If you want rails, see below.  If you want a smooth tube, never mind.

I have multiple FF set ups from YHM (Yankee Hill Machine).  YHM offers great cost effective tube set ups that function fine.  With the locking ring and anti-rotation screws, the units are rock solid.  With the 4-rail design, index for bi-pod use is easy.

Contact some site supporters such as Brightflashlights or Bravo Company for your needs.  The new Diamond series from YHM are really nice!!
