I'm looking at Del-Ton because they are the only people (that I know of) that make a kit for the kind of rifle I want.
Which is an A1 upper with a chrome lined 1/7 M4 profile barrel. Does Del-Ton make quality kits or should I try somebody else? Also, I plan on putting a old style CAR-15 stock on this build but I can't seem to find one that I am sure is a quality product. I know Leapers makes one I hear that Model 1 Sales sucks, but they have a CAR-15 style stock listed on their website, is it GTG or junk? And, if the Model 1 Sales stock is junk does anyone know where I can buy a quality CAR-15 stock? Thanks, BB223 |
| Yeah, they are pretty swamped. You could look into kits from J&T, M&A, and Model 1. I personally have an M&A kit and it is very good to go. Give them a call, and ask what they have in stock and you can pretty much build how you want. The uppers are LMT and the barrels are Wilson, the LPKs are high quality as well, LMT or RRA its hard to say. They also have the stock that you are looking for. |

I guess I'll just buy two lowers and two separate kits.
One to have a "quick" AR while I wait for the one with all the features I want. Now, the question is, which lower? Just off the top of my head I'm thinking DPMS, Spikes, or Armalite. Are any of them "better" than the other or are they all pretty much the same? I'm leaning towards Armalite for no other reason other than the name sounds cool Kind of a lame reason, but hey, it's my money, hehe. In all seriousness though, which of those uppers do you recommend, or am I right thinking they are all pretty much equal? Thanks. |
| You might want to call them on that 1in7 barrel before you order.. Those had been back ordered forever like early november if I remember correctly. I've been waiting on a lightweight kit since mid november and I probably have at least a month to go. As for the quality I have a del-ton middy that shoots great, looks good and has no issues. Mark |

Yes, Deltons uppers in their kits are headspaced and test fired. I received my middy kit about 2 weeks ago and the upper was obviously fired. Recieved two weeks ago? When did you place the order? Placed my first of three orders mid Dec so am going on 12 weeks now.

Do they charge your credit card when you order or when they ship? Anyone know? ETA: NM, found the answer (authorize the charge but don't actually charge it until shipped) they charged me a few days after my order and have communicated with me about once a month, ordered on-line and com'd via email |

I have a stripped lower, and am strongly considering purchasing Del-Ton's M4 kit: http://www.del-ton.com/Rifle_Kit_p/rkt100.htm
Seems like a very good deal when packaged together, much cheaper for the rifle I want than buying it piece by piece. I have no problem waiting four months as long as it's quality and what it's supposed to be when it gets to my doorstep. Everyone seems to have positive things comments about Del-Ton's quality; is there any reason I shouldn't get this kit? Thanks. |
