I did a search and didn't see a thread that was quite as specific as the question I'm asking. I made a pretty good buy on a Vltor Modstock complete kit. It is Dark Earth in color. I know this is the Missy Priss coming out in me and this has nothing to do with a reliable, accurate rifle. That said, I'm wondering if anyone has found a forearm and/or grip that matches Vltor's Dark Earth color well? I was looking at Hogue but it appears that their Ghille Tan is more of a marbled look. I've also looked at Troy's products, in fact this may well be the answer on the forearm. I'm wanting a free floating forearm and ergonomic grip, I won't be mounting anything on the forearm but a railed forearm is fine too. It's going on a carbine and I'm going to keep it at 7". I would like to see a forearm that is completely tan/Dark Earth (whatever it may be called) as opposed to having inserts on black. Tough order I know but I'm thinking that someone makes just such a product and that there are enough people on this board to have tried just about every combination. I hoped that someone may have stumbled across something that fits this bill particularly well. If you've have a picture of somethng along these lines I would love to see it. Thanks for giving this thread a second thought. |

I'm in the same boat - I'm trying to figure out if Command Arms "Desert Tan" is the same color, approximately as the Flat Dark Earth of Magpul and VLTOR, etc.
Sheesh, for that matter, I'd like to know if the POF-USA NP3 coating is the same tan-ish color. If somebody has a rifle with some accessories from different manufacturers (such as a Magpul Magazine or floor plate) and a Command Arms accessory, I'd really appreciate seeing it. |
| Magpul isn't a great match for the Vltor at least the Vltor stock appears to be darker than my friends Magpul stock. It might just be splitting hairs but... It appears that both Daniel Defense and Troy both make forearms that are good matches but a little pricey. Tango Down's grips appear to be about the same color. |
