What is the best tool to use to install a barrel onto my upper and where can I purchase it? Is the panther claw the right tool for the job or something else?

+1 to that. That works fine. I've also used a torque wrench with one of these: http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=762854

Either way is fine.

Edited to add: This place has them in stock:  http://www.parts4ar15.com/ar-15_accessories/product/TL-02.html

FYI if you have a bull barrel the 2 mil-spec wrenches above will not fit over the barrel.

I have a  PRI Wrench It works very well and has 5 studs instead of 3
