I just finished my first lower build and I gotta say that it went smooth with no problems. I got the idea to build a AR from scratch from this forum and it has been my mane source of how to info. My first Lower consisted of a S&W MP15 stripped lower and a DPMS parts kit, a Magpul MIAD grip and a Vltor Receiver extension tube kit. I also used a lower receiver vice block from Rainier Arms which came in real handy. I got a question though.
Does it matter what side you put the Trigger/Hammer pins in from? I noticed that they have 2 notches cut in each of them and they are off centered. I couldn't find any info on this.

The pins are usually put in so the notches are on the left side of the lower, but it really doesn't matter.

Doesn't matter what direction or which hole (trigger/hammer) you put them in.
They're interchangeable and designed to be "soldier proof".

The center groove is for the J spring inside the hammer when the pin is inserted in the hammer pin hole.
The offset groove is for one leg of the hammer spring when inserted in the trigger pin hole.

Thanks for the info guys. Good to know I didn't mess up. I'll be putting my LWRC upper on it and shooting it with my brand new CompM4s this weekend. I hope all go's well.
