I can't remember for the life of me how I worked through this last time I milled out a
lower from a raw forging.  Maybe the print I'm using now is missing a critical measurement?

I'm using the D. Snider AR lower receiver print.

And for the life of me, I can't find one critical piece of data:

What is the distance between the deck plane and the centerline of the two .250" takedown pin holes?

With this info I can get started.  Without it I'm staring at the print trying to figure out if
that data is missing or just very obscure and difficult to derive.

Since I use the front takedown pin hole as my absolute reference, I really need to get
the deck height in relation to it.

I remember trying to draw this up in AutoCAD and running into the same (or similar?) problem of missing one vital measurement.

Let me know if you figure it out.

Thanks!

I guess I could just measure a well-fitting lower receiver...but that feels like cheating.

looking at Ray Brandes's guide, it is 0.250 from the top deck to the center of the take down pin location, hope that helps

The M16 print specs 0.250-0.003" from the centerline of the takedown pin.

Good.  I'll be sure to note that on my print.

Do any of you have the print in .dxf that prints out well on a size D sheet?
