I have been trying to determine if there is a difference between an 6.8 lower and a 5.56 lower. Are they the same or different? I am building on multiple lowers now and would like to commit one to a 6.8.

They are the same. You can use 5.56, 6.5, 6.8, .50 Beowolf all in the same lower. You could always get a "multi cal." lower if you are worried about having a different caliber upper then what is listed on the lower.
