Ok, I am a somewhat new to AR's so bear with me. I have a complete DPMS lower and I am trying to get an upper. I think I want a standard A2 16" chrome lined barrel/chamber. Is there an advantage to the A3's/m4 or does that just basically mean its a flattop?

My MAIN question is If I by a complete assembled upper such as Upper, and then I by a barrel kit such as Barrel Kit is that all I will need to have a COMPLETE upper? What tools would I need to assemble these to items?

Any one have thoughts on Del-Ton, or Model 1 Sales? I don't know who makes the barrels or receivers for Model1.

Also, I have noticed that a lot of sites, don't list a makes the receiver a lot of times, they just say who makes the barrel. Does that not matter?

Any info would help, I think I want to BUILD my upper, one for the learning experience and two for the price/availability.

With what you've linked all you'll need to add will be a charging handle.

Model 1's barrels have been ER Shaw barrels and they're good to go.

For tools you'll want a receiver vise block, a  vise, some moly grease and a barrel wrench/armorers wrench at the least; snap ring pliers and a punch/tap to install the gas tube roll pin will also be a great help.

ETA - You may also need a front sight post, detent and spring. An A2 sight tool will be helpful but not necessary to install those.

EATA - Heh, yeah, missed the BCG.
