I hope this is the correct topic area.
I felt lucky today because of another order coming in, so I took the chance and ordered a DPMS Barrel Assembly with options from the DPMS web page. Yes I know it says backorder will be 6 months, but it will be summer and 6 months from now if Congress has not pushed a new AWB, I would still be wishing I had this upper. These are the options I ordered after reading a lot of forum topics. PLease let me know if I am going a correct way or just being dumb on some items (looking at the forum, most here will not have a problem pointing out if I am being an idiot on some things !!). DPMS 16" A3 Post Ban barrel asssembly; Barrel upgrade-full flutes, Chrome lined bore & chamber with moly steel barrel, Chromium bolt carrier, Panther flash hider, Koelbl rail gas block instead of A2 front sight, carbine free float tube, and Hi-rider Upper reciever. I am planning on Troy BUIS sights front & rear (rail gas block instead of A2 sight), Eotech read-dot (which I like a little higher so the Hi-rider option, plus weapons light ( so offseting the weight with the fluted barrel??), and the floated tube to help with longer shots if not shooting the 308. If this is good to go, and is reliable, it will replace the DPMS standard 16" upper on my SHTF and go-to weapon for target practice. DPMS may not be the choice of some folks here, but so far it has treated me right in my ARs, and I would move the current upper off the DPMS lower and put this one in its place.
