I'm trying to choose between Stag Arms and Rock River. I am building the weapon for home defense and deer hunting. I am thinking of possibly buying Stag Arms lower, but I am new to building ARs. Any help would be great. I do know that I would like a two-stage trigger. If I get the 6.8 mm lower, can I change the upper back and forth for a 223?

Welcome!

There's no difference in the lowers between 6.8 and 5.56, so yes, you can change the upper back and forth.

Just get one of the lowers that don't specify the caliber (Multi caliber). then you can change the upper to almost anything.

Thanks for the information. How do I choose between gun manufacturers? The military didn't let me select one; I've always had shotguns. I wasn't impressed with the Bushmaster I had. I'm really looking closely at Stag Arms; could anyone tell me their experiences with a 6.8 MM?
