On my AR's I installed the ACE Skleton Stock - ARFX. Using my A2 receiver extension tube, buffer and spring, someone on another board said to use an "H" Buffer and a Wolff spring. I noticed that the H buffer is shorty than standard A2 one. Is this o.k. to do?

Also, to swap out the BCG for the BCM Bolt Carrier Group.

Your thoughts?

Thanks again!

I don't have an Ace stock, but if it uses a rifle receiver extension, use the rifle buffer and rifle spring. H2 buffer is for use with a carbine receiver extension.

BCM makes a quality BCG and as long as it has a new bolt, it should be ok.  Its usually fine to use a new bolt in on old barrel, but not the other way around.  Why do you think you need to swap out the BCG, are you having problems with the current one?

No problems. A guy on the other board said he was shooting with a buddy of his and the friends AR would jam now and then. He let him borrow his BCG and the problem was solved. He did suggest on my new build to purchase a BCM and the H buffer.

You need a rifle buffer for your stock.

If your BCG is mil-spec don't worry about it.

The guy you were referring to either wasn't reading your question well enough or he doesn't know how this stuff works.

BTW: BCM is good quality. I put this together for reference.

That's a great thread A_R, thanks for all the work that went into that.
