[ARCHIVED THREAD] - grip stippling

Somewhere I read a thread on stippling an AR grip with a soldering iron. I've done my Glock but this thread had some other type of soldering iron tip that made a more uniform pattern. Can't seem to find the thread, if you know the one I'm talking about would you post a link here please.

I get an effect I like more with less work (win-win). I lay on a coat of paint, then dust it with fine sand while it's still wet. Another coat over the sand makes it look nice, and results in a nice non-slip finish.
