| MY first 3 builds were on Superiors. First one had zero issues. #2 & #3 had tight mag wells with straight mags, no issues w/curved mags. Kept #3 for vamint lower because of trigger adjustability. Can't figure out why more mfgs don't use the same trigger set screw. No creep, lighter pull and 0 extra cost for the builder. |

We just finished building my brothers stripped superior lower, it is very well made. I will be doing mine very soon. It appears to me that they (Superior) "clean up" their lower receiver better than a lot of other's. There are zero parting lines, rough spots, ect...on either lower. Good job Superior! |
| I purchased a Superior Arms lower about 3 years ago. It was one of my favorite lowers. It was one of their first (sn around 1200) and I loved the deep engraving. Then I tried to use a Pmag with it and it would not fit. No big deal, I was going to build a dedicated .22 anyway. I received my Black Dog Mags and they did not fit either. Needless to say, I contacted Superior Arms and they took real good care of me. They are a great company and I would not hesitate to do business with them again. |

Nice build and looks like it all turned out well for you. How do you like that grip? Have you shot with it yet? It looks like it might be kinda heavy, did it change the balance at all with your rig?
Sorry for all the questions but I just ordered 2 SA stripped lowers and and now shopping around for parts to finish out a budget priced 16" flat top. Any tips on good sources for cheap complete upper since I really don't want to attempt a full scratch build on my first try. Also, I was going to order my LPK from midway but they are out so who has cheap lower kits in stock? |

I've got 4 SA lowers, two I got back in May of last year, two I got in December. The new ones are a from different forge than the earlier ones, and have a slightly different finish. The new ones have tighter mag wells and not quite as good machining as the earlier ones. On of my new ones the mags are very tight going in and won't drop free, but that's no big deal to me, I'll just use it for a varmint build I'm planning. I'm very pleased with them, especially for the price, though I wish they were all from the earlier forge, they seem just a bit better.
My local dealer was selling them for $108 out the door, sure can't complain about that. |
| which mags are you seeing stick on the new ones? I read about the poly magpul issues but thought it was only with older SA lowers. Haven't read anyone reporting issues with the new ones. Both new ones sticking or just one? I assume you checked for a burr or other issue that might cause them to hang? |

Nice build! - But I think your scope mount is backwards I just received my SA lower from AIM last week - it took about a month to get, and at only $79 I fixed the scope. I got it in a trade and slapped it on the way it was mounted. your right it was on wrong

| I had issues with a early Superior Arms lower having P-Mags not drop free from it and I contacted Superior Arms. They had me send it back to them (they are only 30 miles from my house) where they broached the mag well and then sent it back... it works great now! |

Both new ones sticking or just one? I assume you checked for a burr or other issue that might cause them to hang? All I use or own are all 20 round, straight body, USGI, aluminum, real deal mags. Both new lowers are tighter on them than the older lowers, one is just tight enough to notice, the other is very tight. In fact I have one particular mag that is a snug fit in the old ones that is really tight in one new one and won't even go into the other. I checked the mag wells. It's easy to see where the tightness is, run a mag in and out a few times and it leaves a mark in the well. They are both tight in the rear of the well, on the raised area on each side. I'm sure I could return them to S/A and they'd take care of them, but to me it's just a minor annoyance, after some use they will wear some and the problem should take care of itself. As I said, the real tight one I'll use for a varmint build. One thing that did just come up, I finally got a LPK and put one of the new ones together, the one that is really tight. After installing the LPK I couldn't insert a mag into it at all. After a couple minutes of head scratching I figured out that the front of the trigger guard was sticking out into the mag well enough to prevent the mag from going in. I used my Dremel to grind a little off the end of the t.g. and cured the problem I don't know if the pin holes are a little too far forward or if the t.g. was a tad too long, and I wasn't interested in trying to drive the roll pin out to try another t.g. just to find out. |
| Dan, that is good info and thanks for sharing. I will be curious to see how my SA lowers work out. I have a dremel tool so worst case scenario is I have to do a little polishing of the mag well. I would be very curious to hear from more folks who have built on superior arms receivers. Is this mag well issue a problem with all of their lowers or just certain batches. Anyone called SA to ask? |

that is one good looking gun. on your jt parts what type of gas block is that instead of the front sight. Thanks...I got the entire upper including scope/mount in a trade. Its a J&T single rail gas block, its whatever J&T put on at the factory. I'm assuming its J&T |
