I have a chance to get a DPMS TIN BCG (complete) and here is what I was thinking;  I have a Bushmaster carbine I was going to put it in and then use my Bushy BCG for a second carbine I am piecing together.  If I put the DPMS BCG in the Bushmaster is there anything I need to worry about?  Headspace?  Function wise will it work just fine?  Any other issues I should consider?  Thanx, Ed

I would keep the Bushmaster together, Not much of an Advantage switching..

I agree with Badazzar. Why not keep the Bushy as is and use the new BCG for the new build? The bolt sort of 'mates' itself to the barrel extension...or at least that's the way I understand it. You can use a new bolt on an old barrel but it has been said that you should not use an old bolt on anything other than the barrel with which it was 'mated'. FWIW, I've done it but only to see if anything would happen. I shot a few hundred rounds in an Oly barrel with a bolt from my Bushmaster - not really a scientific test - but it did function OK. I'd sure as hell use it in an emergency. BTW - I mated an Bushy upper to my Spike's lower and it looks bad-ass!

IMHO there is no issue in switching the bolts. The bolt and barrel are either in-spec or not. I would have absolutely no reservation using a lightly or even moderately used bolt to another barrel. New bolt and new barrel will most definitely be all right.

you should have no problems swtiching/replacing bolts...provided they are spec and of the right caliber/fitting
