Noticed that the buffer retaining pin on my Del-ton has some wear, a polished/oblique(angular) wear on the portion facing the BCG.  Is that normal?

This does not address your problem directly, but, last month at the range I had a malfunction with a collapsible stock. The retaining pin had ejected into the firing control group and fouled things up. At the house later I filed off half a thread from the buffer tube to get proper coverage to retain the retaining pin correctly.
Just a heads up to inspect this area to be sure everything is in good shape. That carbine had approx 4000 rounds thru it so it was probably not exactly right to begin with. A reminder to not get complacent, do good inspections when routine cleaning is performed.

leroy, had that problem the first 10 rounds I ever fired, locked the FCG up good.  I did notice on my latest build that the buffer tube does not snug up as close to the post on the pin as this one posted below.

Anyone have any pics of up close of how it should work?  On one I have just the standard 4 position stock and on the other a Magpul MOE stock.

Here are the best pics I could get, don't know why the stupid camera cannot focus well close up.

Quib, stake that castle nut!

Ronnoc, does your camera have that little flower on the settings?  That's for taking close up pictures.
