I'd like to add this to my carbine but I'm afraid of cracking the recevier.

1.)  How does the pin that has only one way in come out?  Is it spring loaded?  Do I tap out the one roll pin completely out and yank that one out?  Help, please.

2.)  Can I put that area of the recevier on a sandbag and tap the pin(s) out?  Or, how do I do it without cracking the recevier?

Get the right size punch and just drive it out. You'll want to support the area around the rear of the trigger guard (only pin to drive out). Block of wood will work.

The front is a spring loaded affair to lower the trigger guard for gloves. Just push it in with same punch and pull down on the old TG. The replacement part for the front on the Mgpul is a set screw that comes with the new trigger guard along with the hex key for it as well as a new roll pin.

Thanks!  What do you mean by "support support the area around the rear of the trigger guard?"

(like I posted in the VA HTF thread) fast forward to 2:49 in this spiffy video from Arfcom's own, DVDTracker

ETA:  just noticed that at 3:52, there's a requisite "toe-shot"

Arrived yesterday and installed yesterday.  Pretty easy, no troubles.  Just took a while to tap the roll pin out.  Not sure if it was because I was being cautious or I'm just weak (probably the latter).  Regardless, it's perfect.

Yeah most people go easy on that rear pin when driving it out after seeing the pics of the broken ears on other guys' receivers. Right size punch and that block of wood make the difference tho. So what do you think of the Magpul enhanced TG?

Possibly the best add on ever for an AR-15.  I have a Magpul trigger guard on my Bushmaster and will be putting one on my RRA lower when i get the LPK to finish it and probably every other AR i buy from here on out

The MagPul is quite nice, but I prefer the RRA winter trigger guard. Same installation cautions apply.

actually found one at pkfirearms and have it on the way. I already have one of the RRA winter trigger guards and like it pretty well, just wanted something not as "aggressive" looking if ya catch my drift. sort of an inbetween.

Why would you need a C&R for a trigger guard?
