Since I can't fire my freshly built Del-ton until I get to the range, how do I check and see if the bolt catch is working properly?  Should it latch the bolt and hold it back if there is an empty mag in the gun? or will it not work?

If you have a good empty mag inserted properly it should hold the bolt open if you cycle the action by hand.

The follower in the mag hits the bolt catch and pushes it up to stop the bolt. Pretty simple part

so mine isnt catching back with an empty mag, hand cycled.... I think there might be something wrong wiht the bolt catch spring, i bent it slightly during installation. Is there a source for replacement springs for these? if so, wheres the best place to get them?

I guess it could also be the mags.. i am using old colt 20 rd alloy followers....

Some mags are worn and will not enage the bolt stop.
