| I hope this isn't a stupid ? but here goes... I have a complete upper with the A2 carry handle and was wondering if I could buy a stripped flat top and change all the parts over. Is this possible or are the BCG parts mated to the current upper? |

Yes, you can do it. It's not that hard if you have the tools (receiver vise block and armorers wrench or barrel nut wrench). If you don't anticipate doing it more than once you might check your hometown forum to see if you can borrow the tools.
ETA - The BCG parts are not mated to the upper, but bolts and barrel extensions become worn together, so it's commonly advised to keep them together. |
