I want a fluted barrel for my stag 3hl. Does anyone make a 14.5" barrel either fluted or unfluted with a ambi barrel extensiot already installed. Or who would do the work?

EDIT:

YHM was the first people i called and they do not provide the AMBI extension. Also the lugx on the extension for a stag Lefty barrel are cut on both sides.

Found this out:
Stag sells thier ambi barrel extension
A custom barrel will cost me $400
I cannot get JUST a barrel and have the extension installed as far as Iv been told. Without buying a custom $400 barrel

This is what i want:
A lightweight fluted barrel w/ ambi extension
A bushmaster pencil barrel
A place that will remove the stock extension and install the ambi one.

I don't think there is a difference in barrel extensions between LH or standard models. The upper receiver and internals are different, but there shouldn't be a difference with the barrel.

Try YHM they may have what you are looking for.

I believe you're right. I know the bolt is different(It's pretty much a mirror of the normal bolt). The angled part of the lugs is on the opposite side. But looking at an extension, the back of the lugs are flat and parallel to each other.

I'd call Stag and confirm this.

A rep at stag confirmed that thier barrel extensions are differant.

Well that sucks, and pretty much limits what you can do. Unless you can just use a normal barrel in the LH receiver, and still have it function normally.

Im trying to find JUST the barrel i want without a extension and have the extension installed but thats proving difficult without spending 400+

The barrel extensions are machined differently.  They are beveled on the inside of the locking lug recesses that correspond to the LH bolt plus the standard RH bevel.  FWIW, I and others have used regular RH barrels and the stock extension without any issues.
