What do these parts do?  Does it really stop the muzzle flash?

What is the muzzle comp do?  Should I add one of these to my rifle kit, or is the A2 flash hider that is standard good enough and I put the money toward something else?  Thanks.

A flash hider will somewhat hide the flash. A vortex will eliminate almost all of the flash.

A compensator will reduce recoil to an extent.

The A2 FH has been woking fine for the military for years, however there are much better options. Most people only put high end FHs on rifle to make it look badass. Not many people can shoot alot at night.

Hell I have a vortex on mine and I have never shot it at night.

I have a really cool FH on my yugo M72 that i got at a surplus store in Northern Michigan....I made it a point to shoot my gun at night with and without the FH.  It works really good.  I'll try to post some pics of the action, but for now, here is what it looks like....
