Which gas block is better, a clamp style or a set screw.  I mean durability, does one kind tend to loosen over time, stuff like that.  And does anyone know if a Vltor low profile gas block will fit under a LaRue 12" handguard?

Both will work just fine as long as preventive maint is performed at cleanings (checking torque on screws). The set screw model will be more reliable if used with dimples in the barrel where the screws "bite". The Vltor set screw model will fit, but don't think the clamp style will.
