I can not seem to find out how to remove the pin.  I am attempting to put on the Magpul Enhanced Trigger Guard.  Can anyone give me some pointers?

You need a small punch (don't recall the size) and a hammer.  The pin is what is known as a roll pin and they range from easy to extremely difficult to get out.

Also, when you get the right size punch and start to remove it. Find a way to support the area of the receiver that is closest to the roll pin. I've seen receivers crack if the roll pin was a bitch to get out.

I drilled a hole in a 2x4.  Put the pin over the hole.  The ears will be supported and you can drive the pin through.

I just broke my 1 day old LMT lower what are my options now?  Should it just break from hammering out a pin?

Did you break both sides, or just one?

While not the best solution, a cheap an easy fix would be to clean up the break area. Reset the trigger guard and pin to help hold the boken piece in place. Use some JB-Weld at the crack and it holds pretty well.

If you want a more permanent repair, strip it down and see if you can get someone to re-weld it for you. Obviously a lot more work to repair and refinish.

Thanks guys!  Just removed my trigger guard for SBR engraving. Drilled hole in 1X2 worked like a champ.

Yeah, it will break if you don't support the "ear" with a block of wood like the posts suggest.  As an easy fix you can get the Magpul MIAD grip with the integral trigger guard.  The lower will still be broken, but the weapon will function fine and the damage won't be too noticeable.

My buddy did the same thing.  Broke one of the ears off while trying to take out the original trigger guard.  He put on the new trigger guard with the broken ear on, then JB welded the entire under part right next to the grip. He touched up the line where it broke off with flat black touch up pen from brownells and you can't tell a thing.
