I'd like to build a go/to rifle, it will be a basic M1S 16" kit. Since it has a heavy barrel it will be turned down to the same diameter under the forearm as it is in front of the gas block. Use a collapsible stock have BUIS and optics.
I'd like to keep things simple and reliable, I don't need the latest fad, out of date and proven is fine with me.

1. Rail gas block or use a standard A2 FSGB?
2. Advice on optics, no more than 4X?
3. What the best chose in BUIS? I'm leaning towards YHM's.

This rifle may ride on the tractor, in the truck, or be left in the barn incase of a varmite in the house. For you flash light guys, I'm not night blind.

Thanks Duce<><

for BUIS I use YHM flip front with ARMS 40L on the rear.  I also like the Troy front and rear.  I also use the Eotech 512 but also like Aimpoints.  On optics my opinion is save your pennies and buy a GOOD optic the first time.  It took me a year to save for my Eotech and LaRue mount but I'm glad I waited.  When I build something its 3 fold(I have 2 sons) so it takes me a little longer to do things.
