[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Newb question about trigger guard

How do you remove the factory trigger guard? Use a punch on the rear pin? What about the front? I'm going to install a Magpul after I get it off. Thanks for any help.

yes a punch on the rear, the front is a detent and spring....push it in and swing it down

Make sure you support the "ear" opposite the side you're driving the punch in from, or you're liable to break it off. I use a block of wood with a hole big enough for the roll pin drilled into it.
