I have a commando style upper with an 11 1/2" barrel.  I want to use an A1 stock with it.  My question is, should I use a carbine buffer and spring in the A1 tube or should it be the standard rifle buffer and spring?  Rifle spring and  carbine buffer?  I could really use some education about which application will work the best.  Thanks guys!

Rifle buffer and spring.

An A2 stock body uses the same buffer tube, but has a spacer and a longer screw.

Thanks USM0083,  I might not be making myself clear enough. I know what buffer tube I need to use under the A1 stock.
My concern is the rifle cycling properly with the buffer and spring combination.

Carbine gas system + short barrel + A1(or A2) buffer tube=which spring and buffer.

A1/A2 rifle tube =  rifle buffer and spring.

NO CAR STUFF IN A RIFLE TUBE !!

The length of the tube determines which spring and buffer you use, not the barrel length.

A 20" rifle will work perfectly well with a carbine stock/tube/spring/buffer.

A carbine will work perfectly well with a rifle stock/tube/spring/buffer.

Note, Cav Arms lowers use a carbine spring and buffer due to the short length of the molded in tube.  That lower, with the carbine spring/buffer is used with both carbine and rifle uppers.
