I need a full-size buffer tube for my CAA SRS.  What kind should I get that won't rattle?

A tube that the stock won't rattle on, or a tube that the spring won't rattle in? Either way, forget it. If you're asking about the stock, then get a commercial spec tube and hope for the best.

Heavy grease on that buffer spring will stop it from twanging in your ear

The spring rattling inside the tube is characteristic of the AR platform.  It used to bother me, but you get used to it.  Changing tolerances or home-made remedies to get rid of it will only lead to reduced reliability.

Yeah. Clarification of the OP's question requested...

I may have found the answer indirectly while reading the installation/adjustment instructions.

I was asking about the rattle from poor stock/tube fit.

In the instructions, it says to remove your collapsable stock and use the existing tube.  I immediately thought of my collapsable CAA stock that came with a tube and does not rattle.  Then, while at the last gun show I picked one up to recommend to a friend and noticed a lot of slop.  Conversely, the generic $50 combo had very little play.

That made me concerned about the risk of buying any old tube, instead of one better suited for the SRS, and having a floppy stock.

This stock uses the full tube, so I'm thinking it locks up to the receiver like the A2 since it only telescopes on itself, independant of the tube.

If that's the case, then I just need to find a good deal on a full-length tube and spring.

WOW, that's an expensive stock. I would hope it doesn't rattle or move at all.

The description says there are two different types available. One for a rifle tube and one for the carbine tube. I'm assuming you bought the one that installs on the rifle tube. If that is the case you should be fine with any tube because they should all be about the same size and the rifle stock installs differently than a carbine stock. The A2 stock uses a large screw that screws into the tube with the stock in between. The screw forces the stock up against the lower receiver for a tight fit.

An A2 stock should never rattle or move, there's almost no way around it on a standard collapsible stock.
