WHAT is the deal with uppers for sale that nobody includes the BCG????????? Doesn't the bolt need to be headspaced to the bbl? I thought that since they did that it'd be easier if they stayed "married" for a while? Doesn't seem to be the case though, please explain

You can buy them both ways, with or without a BCG from just about any manufacturer. Im assuming its because many sellers figure that since someone is building their own rifle they may want a different BCG. but you could take any quality upper and quality BCG and put them together and you shouldnt have any issues.

New bolt, new barrel, new extension, all from a respected manufacturer and you are fine.

If you build your own upper jsut make sure headspace is correct, and any BCA will work fine.

If you buy an upper from any of the big names and add any quality BCA you will be fine.

BCAs can be switched in and out of correctly built uppers. However after a BCA gets 'broke in' to a particular upper its best to keep it with that one.

RRA uppers include BCG & CH

I think any in spec. bolt & barrel ext. should work together.

If everything is properly manufactured to spec, you shouldn't have any headspace problems.

There are plenty of frankenguns out there with no headspace problems...mine included

And the reason they sell without the BCG included off the bat is because some people might opt for something different (ie, differnt manufacturer, diff caliber, chromed parts, etc).  Wouldn't it suck to have to pay for an extra bcg every time you build a new upper, but wanted to have some different internals?
