I posted photos in the "POST PICS OF YOUR BUILDS HERE" Thread (second posting from the top). The game plan was not to cut ANY corners, and build the best match rifles I knew how. I'm sure some folks will quibble with my choices (as might I, after the fact), but the results speak for themselves. Some of the choices between the two rifles were dictated by the small stature of my wife. Here is a list of what went into them: Upper & Lower Receivers: Mega “Gator” Stripped Lower Receivers Alexander Arms Billet Upper Receiver w/ Side Knob & Chrome Bolt Carrier (Mfg’d by Mega, by the way) Barrels: Krieger Barrel w/Match 5.56 chamber, 26” length, 0.920” dia (Blue Rifle) Krieger Barrel w/Match 5.56 chamber, 24” length, 0.920” dia (Purple Rifle) Krieger Gas Tubes Receiver Components: Geissele Match Rifle Trigger (Blue rifle) Jewell Trigger (~ ¼” shorter LOP than Geissele) (Purple Rifle) White Oaks Lower Parts Kits w/o Trigger Rock River Trigger Guards & Roll Pins Bravo Company MPI Bolt Assemblies PK Firearms Titanium Firing Pins Rock River Charging Handles Accuwedges “Furniture”: Blue White Oaks Adjustable Buttstock Purple White Oaks Adjustable Buttstock w/ shorter A10 tube, spring & buffer White Oaks 2” Dia. Handguards MagPul MAID Modular Grip (Blue Rifle) Standard Military Grip (Purple Rifle) Front Sight Assemblies: Lipski Front Sight Base for 0.920” dia barrel RPA Slotless 22mm Front Sight Anschutz #9722-4 22mm Insert Clamping Ring Anschutz Clear Front Sight Inserts (2.8mm, 3.0mm 3.2mm) Rear Sights: Warner Sight w/ Lipski Base (Blue Rifle) Walt Sinnott E2 Match Rear Sight (Purple Rifle) Don't ask what this all cost. I bought all of the bits & pieces over the course of a couple years, and I know a lot of items have gone up. The purple rifle was an anniversary present for my wife, and when I saw how well it was coming out, I had to make one for myself. |
