tell me if im correct,or lost.I have been adding a few bolt-ons to my daughters bushy m4.Iadded a eotech and cut down the carry handle to make a rear sight.Went and sighted the rifle in and everything was fine. She ordered a Arms #40 std A2 flip up rear sight and we put it on but havent yet had a chance to go to the range. From a couple of my past bushmaster builds ive had to add a .040 taller front sight post to align the flip up and the standard front sight post.I wanted to get one if needed before we went to the range in a week or so.I took my calipers and measured the distance from the rail surface of the rear sights to the bottom of the apperatureand get 1.280.I understand that bushy uses A2 front sight bases and installs a lower rear carry handle to make up for the difference tocut costs or some reason.the front sight base is not marked F but the factory rear sight and the arms appear to be the same height.am i correct in my measurements and do not need a taller front post or am i lost.Is the arms sight i have fine for the standard FSB or do you think i still need the taller post.I also can cowitness with the eotech and the dot is falling the same place in the sight picture with both sets of sights.I appreciate your input.thanks in advance. | yeah i know bushy says too but hear some rifles need em and some dont. This rifle zeroed fine with the stock rear sight and the Arms going on it is the exact same height as the stock one if this is a legit way to measure the sights.since both rear sights are the same height and the first one zeroed fine ,and they both show the same sight picture am i correct in thinking i shouldnt need one ? |
