Hey guys,

I'm building a flat top, carbine length AR15.  I've used, but never owned, an AR before.  I already have a stripped lower + LPK from Spike's.  Here's my tentative parts list:

VLTOR MUR Upper
10" Troy MRF forend
??? Barrel
Magpul CTR (& MIAD)
Troy BUIS

Other than that, would else would I need?  Just a bolt & carrier, a charging handle, and a buffer tube (since the CTR doesn't seem to come with one)?

With the barrel, I was thinking about going with a Noveske, but I really just can't justify the extra cost (I'm a poor college student haven
Basically, I'm just asking if there any parts I'm forgetting, or if there are any sort of incompatibilities between current parts.  If it matters, I'm planning on putting an Eotech on it.

I've looked at diagrams and lurked here, but ARs are not my area of expertise, and I don't want to screw up and waste money...

I'm open to any and all suggestions.

Thanks!

if you get a 14.5" bbl with fixed flashhider make sure you have a plan to get the gas block and barrell nut assembly on.  if you have to have 14.5" SBR it.

noveske will make you happy.

you would almost be better off buying a complete upper from MSTN or Noveske.  Every time I price a build with the same parts it's almost a wash and I'd rather have something professionally built.  Check out the Noveske diplomats on there web page.
