having some trouble getting the flash hider to center up and down. thing i have the crush washer right firearm ( end of barrell. suggestions. it is a dti barrel.

The crush washer will crush but it takes a bit of force.

If you have a vice block and a vice for changing barrels, put the upper in it while you're installing the flash hider. Use a wrench to turn the flash hider but support the end of the barrel with your other hand. You want rotational force on the flash hider with minimal downward force on the barrel. Rotate until timed correctly.

A barrel vice will make it even easier.

If all you have is a regular vise, then put paint can stir sticks on each side and put your barrel in the middle then make it tight.  Do your thing to the FS.  Do not get the front sight base in the vise, you could turn it on the barrel.

i feel as if it would be more than 20pds of torque.

i read that you can grind off some off something to make it fit better. that true any suggestions. ty for your help

so what i am saying is can you over tighten it. the crush washer should take the force of torquing it?
