How the hell do I loosen this YHM nut? I want to replace the YHM rail with a standard FSB & M4 handguards.

(It's the SBR)

I think you may need a longer barrel if you want to fit a standard FSB and HGs on that.

YHM makes a wrench for removing the locking ring for their Freefloat tubes.  You will want a good vice and action block, because a lot of folks install them with Locktite.  If they used red locktite you will have to heat up the retaining ring.

With  a YHM propietary wrench that is made for it or with a screw driver and hammer.

Either can work.

Buy the wrench! They don't cost all that much or I'm willing to bet somebody in your hometown forum will loan/let you use thrs. Also, if dissimialr metals- steel nut and alum tube- do NOT use loctite. If you ever wish to take it apart use some anti-sieze/etc.

I've always used a piece of hard wood or hard plastic and a hammer to loosen the jam nut.
