When building a stripped receiver for a lefty shooter, can you simply switch which side the safety/selector is on (left>>right) or do you have to go with the ambidexterous switch??

The standard selector detent only fits into the right side of the selector. Just look at it while it's out, you'll see the channel where it fits, reverse it and the detent wont engauge.
