Does anyone know where I can find instructions on making a collapsible stock a fixed stock by pinning? I know I saw it around here somewhere, I just can't find it at all. Can someone let me know, or send me to a website that has that information? Thank you much, -Kevin Warner |

I know Bushmaster sells fixed "collapsible A4 style" butstocks. They sell them from the factory on their post ban 14.5" rifles. The part number is 1005-087-8988PEK and they list for $106.95. Here is the link and it is half way down the page with no pic. www.bushmaster.com/products.asp?cat=13 I don't know the legal requirements but their buffer tube has no adjustment / plunger holes and they have two 1/16" roll pins that go through the stock and into the square section of the buffer tube. The pins DO NOT go all the way through. They are installed blind. Also the adjustment arm that normally pulls the plunger out of the buffer tube for length adjustment is disabled. Again I say, I do not know the legal requirements, but if you blind pin the stock to the tube and blind pin the adjustment arm, to the legal length, I would guess you would be good to go. |
| I pinned one before. I took out the plunger/spring etc, and drilled and tapped a hole in the receiver extension, and ran a hex head screw in there (where the plunger/spring used to be). That's how the ArmaLite ones were done during the ban, some had a receiver extension that didn't have any holes for adjustment on the underside, some did. Otherwise you could do the roll pins as posted above, Bushmaster style. I would check with ATF for legality if that's the reason you're wondering. The drilled/threaded/screwed deal could be Loctited I suppose, to make it more permanent. |
