Hey guys,

Just assembling my first lower and im getting ready to put the trigger and hammer in. Just wondering if the notches on the hammer and trigger pins need to go in any specific direction. ( notch closest to the end faces the mag catch and bolt release side ext ) or if they dont matter in the least.

Figured id ask rather than mess something up potentially.

Thanks
Pat

You are correct; as the notches are where the spring legs fit - in order to prevent pin movement after installation.

lol thanks for the reply. . . but to be honest im still confused. Does it matter which way the cutouts face?If so which side of the reciever should they face? Bolt catch side of the lower or ejection port side?

Sorry, im a bit slow with the AR builds, done lots of AKs but just started on the 3 mega lowers i got.

It doesn’t matter. The grooves in the pins will catch the spring legs regardless of direction inserted.

It doesn't matter, but I believe I read some where that it is customary for them to be inserted left to right with the notched side going in last, but honestly the left to right part doesn't matter but they do go easier with the notches going last, less to get hung up on.

Ill get pics of it up as soon as i get the stock in.

I did realize i have an issue though. My pins seem to be rotating. . .and they are not supposed to do this lol. Any way to get them to stop? The springs are in correctly and it is a mega lower with a RRA parts kit, so everything is top quality. Ill get some KNS antiwalk gen 1s later if i have to, but just seeing if theres anything anyone knows to do that doesnt mean more cash.
