Hey! I'm thinking about building a nice service ar-15 rifle and was looking for some feedback.  Initially 'm thinking of a Bushmaster Lower with a jewell trigger and a nm rock river arms upper with a olympic arms ultramatch barrel. another few questions:

I'm under the impression that I can have one lower and switch that lower out with multiple uppers chambered for the same cartrige.  Is this correct?

Are there any other places to look for ar-15 national match parts other than those mentioned above?  Mind you that I respect the look of a standard AR/M-16.  I don't want any of the fancy strange looking stuff, but quality parts to make an accurate service competition rifle.

Any comments would be appreciated

Correct, in fact there are a number of calibers that can be put through the standard AR15 lower as long as they have the correct upper.

That's great! What calibers will fit in a standard lower?

I'm interested in this as well.  Any chance an AR10 (.308/7.62) upper would fit on an AR15 lower?

im pretty new here but im 100% sure your not gonna get a .308 upper to function with a 5.56 lower, the mag well is too small to accept the .308 mags which are almost identical to an M-14 mag

Correct

Anyway, some options for AR15 lowers are 5.56, 7.62, .50 Beowulf, 458 socom, 300 Whisper, 6.8 SPC, 6.5 Grendel. In addition you can also put a huge number of different pistol calibers and .22 through them, but I think some of these involve more than just a upper swap.
