Hey, anybody who's installed a GG&G free-float rail ... do you have to remove the barrel?  I bought one used and it doesn't come with instructions.  I know their website says you have to remove the barrel.  But my understanding is it works like the Troy, that it clamps onto the barrel nut, which I'd think means you do not need to remove the barrel.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Anybody know?  I'm about to cut the Delta Ring assembly off my RRA upper, but was hoping somebody could help before I start cutting

Hold that Dremal and just call GG&G.

I'm willing to bet that they will tell you what to do.

I'm not familiar with the GG&G, but they are probably referring to removal of the barrel nut to take off the delta ring without cutting.

Gave them a call, they said cutting off the Delta ring assembly works just fine ... it clamps to the barrel nut.  Should have just called first before asking here, but I was impatient

That was easy, 5 minute job and I'm done!  Rail successfully installed.
