| I am putting together my first AR and am going to be using it for strictly coyote hunting and am questioning myself on the length of the barrel I want. Most of my shots will be within 200 yards and rarely taken over. I am really interested in the 18" RRA Varmint Barrel. But they seem to be the only 18" bull I can find. Any feed back with 16" or 20" barrels? I am looking to keep accuracy but still managing to keep the gun shorter by not giving up to much accuracy. Please let me know what size you think will work best for me. Thanks. |
Barrel length effects velocity. not accuarcy. All things being equal a shorter barrel would be more accurate because it would be stiffer and have less whip when fired. Go as short as you want, but just buy a quality barrel. |
