I am installing a barrel on a flat top upper, I know to coat the threads of the barrel nut and upper reciever with anti-sieze compound, should I also coat the outside of the barrel extension as well, or could it caus the slightly spin in the upper when tourqing down on it?

Coat the threads only, no need to put any Moly Grease/Anti-Seize on the extension. Refer to the tacked threads in the "Build It Yourself" section, there's a whole category on installation of barrels with high-quality pics to help you in your project.

Good luck.
