In the past few months Ive built up THREE lower recievers in different configurations in a last minute attempt to acquire some black rifles before any potential future weapon bans. Now the time has come to build the uppers and I am lost as to which manufacterer to buy parts from. My lowers are Stag and CMMG but who makes the best quality (most durable) upper parts? I want to buy parts for a quality rifle but considering Money IS an issue and so is time what would you build with my budget? Im looking for something relatively plain for now, just the basics My budget is 500-600 per upper 1st upper is 14.5+suppressor/Chrome lined/5.56/1:8 with a Flattop Upper 2nd upper is a 20 inch/Chrome lined/5.56/1:8 flattop upper the third will be a 6.8SPC with a Gas Piston system but I will probably spent a bit more on that one . I guess what I would like to know is if you were on my budget and wanted to get most bang for your buck what SPECIFIC parts would you buy and from who for a "from scratch" build??? Bonus question: If I plan to fire a majority 55gr and 62gr. ammunition out a 1:8 twist Chrome Lined barrel, how long of a barrel life can I expect to have in terms of Shots Fired? I want a 1:8 instead of a 1:9 to accomodate heavier 69, 75 gr ammunition for the occassional use unless you can recommend something else? Thanx in Advance everyone |
