[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Barrel question

Did any of you receive a barrel where the maker drilled out the gas port hole to install the gas block and there were some "left over" metal pieces left in the bore? I tried to clean it out but I couldn't. I contacted the maker and asked about it. He told me just to fire some rounds through it and it should go away. Is this safe? Has anyone did it? Thanks in advance.

Yes, it is safe to fire from what i understand.

I would run a cleaning rod/boresnake through it first. If that doesn't take care of it, fire once, then clean to ensure all debris is out so it doesn't scratch your rifling...
