I will be undertaking my first build from a completely bare lower shortly.  I was looking at the Model 1 Sales kits and the pricing seems good.  Are the parts quality?  Is there somewhere else I should be looking?

Thanks in advance.

They are okay. There are certainly better places out there but they aren't crap by any means.

This thread talks a little about it and doing a search for "Model 1" should bring up even more threads.

If not Model 1, who would you suggest for a complete parts kit?

I have a model 1 20" upper that I have been completely happy with. I have heard of some people having trouble with there BCG and smaller parts in the lower parts kit. You can't beat the deal on the complete upper, but I would advise you to order a lower parts kit from someone like RRA or Bushmaster and your BCG from Bravo Co. and you won't have to worry about those rumored problems. I personally did not experience those problems but decided to play it safe. YMMV

I have built 7 or 8 kits for myself and family from M1S. I reccomend them. No problems.

My precision upper came from M1S. Upper is a Cardinal. Fits tight on my Sun Devil lower. It goes boom and makes tiny little groups. Works for me.

My 3-gun upper is from Model 1, and is 7 years old. It runs like a champ, and even after many thousands of rounds rapid fire, its still shoots better than I can. It has won many times its cost in prizes over the years, and I still can't see a compelling reason to replace it.

My first build was a M1S.  It wasn't crap, but the quality was certainly lower end.  If I was to do that today, I'd use Del-Ton or J&T instead.
