Anyone have done any trigger job on their gun?  probably achieve a 2-3lb trigger pull?

I've done a bunch of them on my guns.  I just stone and polish the engagement surface of the trigger and lightly polish the hammer notch.  Be careful not to alter the engagement angle of either and make sure you keep your work square.  I'm sure they are not as good as a quality two stage or aftermarket trigger, but for 30 minutes +/- worth of work, it surely helps.  The trigger pull weight will not be reduced, but you should be able to take out any roughness, which will feel a hell of a lot better.

Stone the sear, bend the trigger spring legs up 20 degrees, bend the right leg of the hammer spring up 20 degrees (or cut it off entirely), and grease the sear with lithium. About 5 pounds. To get much better than that takes changing the engagement surfaces which isn't something you want to do.

What's wrong with changing the engagement surfaces? I mean, it's all mechanics and friction and angles. I've done other trigger jobs, just not on a 'black gun'. I do know that the 'stock' trigger needs help, just don't want to spend big $$$ on a 'drop in' trigger job.
I don't mean to be trivial here, this is 'build info' not just 'buy info' correct?

My next project will probably be a 0% lower forging, for example.

Do a search on Bill Springfield.  He works wonders and costs less than $50.  I'll be sending mine off here very soon.

Mainly because the trigger and hammer are case hardened. I've heard rumors that they're through hardened now, but I have no proof.
