[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Swapping Bolt / Carrier Group.. ?

Hey guys i dont really know much about this, so i wanted to see what to do.

Is it Ok, to swap a Bolt/Carrier Group/Charing Handle from one upper to another? I have about 750rds on the BCG that i want to swap. Does the BCG kind of become mated with the upper or is switching all good.

If it is ok to switch them, nothing needs to be done to them correct? No, spacing or anything, just straight swap?

I think you only have to worry about headspacing issues when the bolt has several thousand rounds and is well worn. If you only have 750rds on your bolt, it is just now getting broke in so to speak.

I've swapped several bolts and never had to check headspace with any of them or had any kind of malfunctions due to swapping bolts.

Alright, cool thats what i wanted to hear. Looks like im getting a new upper, and i can just use my current bolt.

I've swapped bolts and bolt carriers many times in troubleshooting AR-15's. No, your rifle will not kaboom because of this.
